This month is considered by many to be the best time to visit Corpus Christi because it offers such a wide array of fun events, exciting activities, and beautiful fall weather. Free Corpus Christi Events in October
- Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront
Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation presents Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. every Saturday (weather permitting) at The Water’s Edge Park on S. Shoreline Blvd. Free fitness activities include a 5k/10k, HIIT camp, yoga, and Zumba classes for ages 8 and older.
- Downtown Farmers Market at Art Center
The Corpus Christi Downtown Farmers Market is on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Art Center of Corpus Christi, located on N. Shoreline Blvd. Vendors at the farmers market offer fresh produce, locally raised meats, eggs, baked goods, fresh-cut flowers, artisan goods, and so much more.
- Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department Trunk or Treat
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department Trunk or Treat event is on October 21, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. It will be held at Salinas Park on Airport Road for kids of all ages. Parks & Recreation staff join with community partners to hand out treats in front of Halloween-decorated cars. Other activities at the event include inflatables, games, and face painting. Costumes are encouraged.
Local Attractions in Corpus Christi and the Surrounding Area
The Texas State Aquarium is a must-see attraction offering an up-close-and-personal look into the marine world. Explore underwater habitats, meet dolphins, and enjoy interactive exhibits every Tuesday-Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Check hours ahead of your visit as they are subject to change.)
Visit the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier turned museum, to discover the history of naval aviation and explore the actual decks of the ship, as well as vintage aircraft and other engaging exhibits. The Museum is open most days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. all year round.
- Selena Museum
Corpus Christi is home to the Selena Museum, established in honor of Tejano music superstar, Selena Quintanilla. Learn about her life and career through memorabilia and exhibits dedicated to her legacy. The Selena Museum, located on Leopard Street, is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
